My 18mo old son has a thin dark bluish/grey band on the proximal aspects of all of his front teeth; what is this?

Could be decay: I would have your dentist check it out as soon as possible. There's a chance that environmental factors could have caused this type of stain when the teeth were being formed, but more than likely it is decay.

Hard to tell: Usually the color you are describing is characteristics of tetracyclin stain which means if you took tetracyclin antibiotic during pregnancy your baby will have this type of discoloration. Do you remember taking tetracyclin? Take him to a dentist please.
