Neuroleptics: Often the best first line meds are neuroleptic medications such as Neurontin and lyrica (pregabalin). Cymbalta is also a good choice. This will focus more on nerve symptoms. If you are dealing the spasm and spasticity then a muscle relaxant may help. Opioids may also help but should not be used as the first line medication. Physical therapy is the best non-medication alternative.

Depends on pain type: All ms pains are not same, neuropathic pain musculoskeletal pain/nocioceptive psychosocial or any combination of the above proper evaluation will show what combination of medication is needed.

Several choices: Since dealing with "nerve pain", would choose neurontin, Gralise, Horizant, or Lyrica. Might instead consider Cymbalta or Savella (milnacipran). Would prefer to avoid opioids in most cases.
