Yes: A neurologic injury at a high enough spinal level can lead to weakness of varying degrees to the arms or regions of the arms leading to muscle wasting or atrophy whichbis an actual loss of muscle mass appearing as weight loss.

Spine. : If you had spinal injury to your neck. C4 to T1 supply the nerves to your arms. If damaged this can lead to loss of muscle mass.
