What medications are available for a 4 yr old to take with the diagnosis of intermittent explosive and mood disorder?tried risperidone but weight gain

Explosive do: For that age, most meds. Would be used off label, very cautiously, and supervised by child psychiatrist and pediatritian, depending on diagnosis and without done. I use low dose mood stabilizers and clonidine, but discuss with his doctor.

Better to have thera: Sometimes great parenting help can diminish the symptoms. I don not recommend antipsychotics. Possibly the child has adhd and a small dose of a stimulant would hepl.
