What is the consensus on existence and degree of risperidone's effect on a) seizure threshold b) qt? i don't need to take it. dr. agrees. my side effects r concerning. info on above will help me decide on strength of my desire to switch to safer drug?

We are advised that resperidone can cause prolongation of both the QT &QTc with both regular doses and with an overdose. It also has been show to cause EEG abnormalities and could affect or rarely cause seizure disorders. I've used it in multiple patients in extended care facilities through the years without incident, but would avoid is use in certain patients.
