Weight gain: I am not sure of the mechanism but risperiodone certainly can cause weight gain. Some of my patients have reported carbohydrate craving. I have not seen it used specifically to cause weight gain.

No: It does cause wt gain , but the concerning side effects both metabolically and neurologically would make it a poor choice to use for wt gain
