A member asked:

What can cause your tonsils to be red? anything i should worry about?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tonsillitis: Tonsils are lymphoid tissues which help to fight infection. Sometimes they will become red in doing this. Occasionally they may be overwhelmed by multiple infections and have to be removed. This depends on your history and a thorough exam by an ENT doctor. If you have no other symptoms, would not worry too much.
