Yes: Yes. Some people react violently and some people barely react. Most times the reaction is limited to the skin and the location of the bite.

Yes, but...: Yes, it is possible to be allergic to mosquitoes and have large swollen red areas on the skin after a bite, but there is not much to do about it. Ice, ibuprofen for swelling, and topical steroid cream is all that needs ton be done. There is no magical cure for mosquito bite allergy.
