Deep massage: Trigger points are taut bands of muscle that are tender to palpation. Trigger point release involves applying deep pressure with or without massage to "release" or loosen the muscle tissue. If trp release does not work often injections and therapy can help. Trigger point injections: A trigger point injection or dry needling may help cause a reflex spasm that loosens the muscles if traditional stretching, physical therapy, massage, ice and heat don't work.
