Manipulation/Surgery: Adhesive capsulitis is a condition commonly referred to as a frozen shoulder, and is characterized by pain and limited motion. Historically it is treated with physical therapy and on occasions manipulation under anesthesia followed by more therapy. Arthroscopic capsular release has been described as well. Surgery can be avoided, if patient. This naturally resolves on its own in 12 – 24 months.
