Stress or worry?: Stress and worry can lead to late or missed period as your adrenal glands need cortisol to get you thru stress and they "steal" Progesterone from your female cycle which can affect timing and regularity. I can't tell you not to worry but i would suggest repeating test in a few days and then using reliable contraception on a regular basis to remove worry. Stress is bad for your health!

Can retake in wk.: Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems (i.e. PCOS). #1 reason is pregnancy.
