Some you can: If you are "lucky" enough to have stones made of uric acid, you can actually dissolve them by making your urine less acidy. Normally with uric acid stones, the urine pH is around 5 but if you can get the pH above 6.5, the stones start to dissolve.

Medications: There are certain medications that may help dissolve stones or help pass stones once in the ureter (kidney tube). Making the urine more basic (less acidic) will help dissolve stones. If your are actively passing a stone, then medications called such as alpha-blockers may help pass the stone.
