Serious problem: Need u/s of both lower extremities and other tests to make sure the blood clot from DVT does not go to the lungs! need Coumadin (warfarin) or some other blood thinner. Needs urgent care. Best of luck.

Unlikely : This does not sound like a DVT at all. Most symptomatic dvt's present with leg swelling on one side. Many patients have pain or other symptoms but constant pain in the groin is much more likely to be musculoskeletal. If this persists and you are concerned, please see the doctor.

Dvt: Certainly DVT is a possibility, but it is less likely as the source for the localized discomfort in the inner groin area. Evaluation by venous Doppler-sonogram will determine if there is a venous thrombosis, and may be the first test to do in trying to diagnose the source of her pain. It is not uncommon for localized inner groin pain to be related to a hip issue.
