Get evaluated first: This seems like a benign question and may very well be a benign but painful condition like osteoarthritis. However, many things cause pain with weightbearing and thats why patients need to be questioned in detail, have and exam by a person skilled in knee pathologies, and get appropriate imaging studies done in the correct order. Have you mom see an orthopaedic surgeon and get the diagnosis 1st.
