Can wellbutrin (bupropion) make my anxiety worse?

Yes: Wellbutrin (bupropion) is not a good antianxiety medication, it can also "speed" you up. You need an ssri or an snri. I never use wellbutrin (bupropion) for anxiety in my patients.

Possibly: Per Drugs.Com here are Wellbutrin side effects: Very common (10% or more): Insomnia (up to 45%) & agitation (up to 31.9%), 1% to 10% for Anxiety. I mostly see people experience anxiety with Wellbutrin if they take in a lot of caffeine or other stimulants. New information that is out is that Wellbutrin is calming for some people.
