Was on wellbutrin (bupropion) for a long time.helped with anxiety/dep.started prozac too thinking it may help anx more, but seems to make anx worse. how is this?

Prozac (fluoxetine) causing anx?: prozac, an SSRI, is commonly rx'ed to treat depression and anxiety d/os. Of all of the SSRIs, Prozac may b most likely 2B stimulating. Thus, it may b most likely to cause initial anxiety, which typically passes. then we observe the meds intended effect - reduction in anxiety. All SSRIs can have this side effect. U note that u also take synthroid (thyroxine). This cld play a role.C ur doc 2 discuss next steps.

Tell your doctor: You may need to change doses or try another medicine. Some meds target anxiety and depression like Zoloft (sertraline) and Celexa. Ask your doctor and do not ignore this.
