Dependes on location: An aortic aneurism is best repaired with endovascular stents but a carotid blockage responds better to endarterectomy. Renal artery lesions can be approached endovascularly in most cases but it they are near the aorta or due to fibromuscular dysplasia an open surgical approach gives better results as long as the risk of surgery is tolerable.
