Gum disease?: I doubt that you are being too rough on your tongue, but be sure to inspect it for any sores or ulcers. See your dentist asap as bleeding is the mouth is not normal. It could be gum disease, or a sore that is more dangerous, potentially even cancerous. Call today.

No. Gum disease.: The gums bleed with it is swollen due to much plaque and buildup. Healthy gums don't bleed, diseased gums do bleed. Sounds like it is time for dental check up and cleaning.

Spitting blood: Unless you have some sort of lesion or growth on your tongue i doubt the blood is coming from your tongue. It is probably coming from your gums indicating some degree of gum disease. You should have this examined by a professional. If i touched the back of your arm and blood spurted out would you think it was normal?
