Perhaps: If you are taking a benzodiazepine or similar sleep medicine there could be a transient increase in anxiety when the medication wears off. The same thing happens with alcohol and is the reason why drinking alcohol at night doesn't help your sleep. It may help you get to sleep but when it wears off in the early am it leads to early sleep awakening...

Anxiety: Lack of slow wave or rem sleep or interruptions in sleep can cause morning anxiety. Also when benzodiazepines or similar meds wear off they can cause anxiety.

See a psychiatrist: I recommend that you see a psychiatrist to have you anxiety treated, preferably with something that is nonaddicting if possible. There are many antianxiety medications. Which you should take depends on a lot of factors, especially which of the anxiety disorders you have.Psychotherapy and over the counter meds and a variety of other treatments can also help.
