Routine: Help him by having a routine - same time each night, quieting the house, limiting exposure to TV, possibly a bath and a bedtime story. Set up the expectation that sleep is what happens at that time. When your baby wakes, check in, but try not to pick him up. Keep the room darkened and quiet. Walk away. You need to sleep to be a good mother. He needs to quiet himself - not easy at first.
