The top: The atria are the top chambers of the heart. Theres one on the right and one on the left. They open up into the ventricles wich are on the bottom of the heart.

Volume chambers: There are 2 atria, one for receiving blood from the lungs, sending it to the left ventricle to pump to the body. The other receives blood from the body, and sends it to the lungs for oxygenation and carbon dioxide removal. Valves separate the atria from the ventricles.
