Anorexia nervosa: Anorexia affects not only the person actively involved, but also the entire family as well as friends. Parents and siblings worry about the welfare of their anorexic member. There may be power struggles over eating or not eating, and other things. In adolescent anorexics, family therapy can be part of the overall treatment plan. Anorexia is a devastating, dangerous, and difficult illness.

It always does: Anorexia nervosa is an illness with a mortality rate (death rate) of around 10%, with half of these deaths being from suicide. How could such a thing not affect every one around them? Further, the misery and ill health associated with anorexia cause problems for the sufferer's spouse/parents/children/friends. Get help! you deserve it.

Profoundly: In general people with anorexia nervosa, a brain disorder, are not happy. An affects their ability to socialize, to eat with others, not to fixate on weight in conversation; it affects mood and lowers libido.
