Damage nearby: The risk is very rare. Anesthetic risks as outlined in the prior answer and surgical risk. The surgical risks are recurrence or damage to the adjacent anatomic structures (vas deferens, gonadal vessels, nerves) which, in experienced hands, occurs in < 0.5% of pts.
