Confusing post: Group B strep can be disastrous to newborns but is not much of a problem for anyone else. It is a common benign germ in the GI tract & occasionally causes urinary tract infections in women. It is easily killed off by common antibiotics. Why someone 59 would be considered at risk from this germ is confusing.
