Do dentists give laughing gas for gum cleanings?

Yes.: But i would find this as an unnecessary risk as no drug is without its risks and benefits. Many dentists or hygienists have a local anesthetic salve that will help numb the sensitive areas of the gums or even areas of teeth where the sensitive dentin is exposed.

Yes: If you feel you need it then discuss it with your dentist and hygienist.
