No such thing: Hi. Spelling error? There is no such thing as "calcitoin". There is a polypeptide hormone called calcitonin. But it can't be made from vitamin D!!! Vitamin D can converted to 25-hydroxyvitamin D in the liver, and to the active form, calcitriol, in a tightly regulated step in the kidneys. But no such thing as "calcitoin", and vit. D can't be made into calcitonin.
