When you're old!: There are 2 reasons to take vitamins: to treat symptoms of deficiency or prevent disease. If to treat symptoms you'll know if you feel better over time (many take several weeks), If for prevention when you reach 90 you will know. You can get a blood test to measure D levels- normal is at least 30, optimal 50-80; and take more D if needed. See https://tinyurl.com/y8nbzbo4
