Treat the causes: Chronic gastrititis can be difficult to treat, but removing the cause along with adequate treatment often result in healing in 6-8 wks. Helicobacter pylori (bacteria) infection, alcoholism, drugs (i.E motrin/aspirin)/chemo etc..Can cause chronic symptoms and stopping it will allow healing in few wks, with good nutrition. Tums, pepto, zantac, (ranitidine) Prilosec etc..Can help. Consult doc. Good luck.

Peppermint: Or ginger can also help acutely. However te cause of the gastritis needs to be addressed or all your doing is treating symptoms.
