No permanent cure.: Ginger An adult can chew 1/4th ounce of raw ginger to decrease nausea but should not exceed 4 grams per day. Ginger can cause mouth irritation & heartburn – so encourage ginger tea instead. Place thin slivers of fresh organic ginger in tea pot with boiling water – steep for 5 minutes & then slowly sip.

Possible: Nicotine can affect many body organs and functions. One should not smoke anyway and if this is a concern, why not just quit and give it a try? There are many many more causes of gastritis. If you are having more than a mere nuissance problem with this, get checke out.

Bland diet: Eat foods that have few additives and spices. Fruits, vegetables and grains are good sources of these. Avoid spicey, citrus and dense foods as they can further irritate the lining of the stomach.

Chicken vindaloo?: Acute gastritis-inflammation of stomach lining due to meds, alcohol, even acute h. Pylori infection. Stick with bland diet, no alcohol, minimal caffeine, no hot, .Spicy food; may tolerate cooked fruits and veggies better than raw.
Chronic gastritis due to h. Pylori, or autoimmune? Maybe the above reccs as well. See doc to get checked and treated.
May tolerate more foods once on appropriate rx.

What is gastritis?

Dr. Charles Cattano answered

Stomach upset: The suffix "itis" means "inflammation". The prefix "gastro" means "stomach." the term "gastritis" thus means an "inflammed stomach." the term is often used imprecisely to mean stomach upset, which can derive from both acid & non-acid causes, slow emptying of the stomach, h.Pylori infection, atrophic & hypersecretory problems. Try acid blockers & diet modification, recommended by your doctor.
