Yes it can be used. : Yes, Zetia (ezetimibe) is drug that blocks the absorption of cholesterol in the jejunum (small intestine). By so doing, less cholesterol is delivered to the liver, and in response the liver tries to bring more cholesterol into the liver by up-regulating the LDL receptor on the surface of liver cells. This reduces cholesterol in the blood stream. It can be used as add-on therapy in patients who require it.
