No: Pain when moving any joint is never normal. This can be a sprain, tendonitis, arthritis, etc. The list goes on and on. I would see a hand surgeon for an evaluation.

No it is not: As a general rule, pain with movement in any joint is not normal. If you could give us more detail about where the pain is, whether you had an injury, and what kind of movement causes the pain, we might be able to give you a more intelligent answer.
