A member asked:

Is there a home remedy for a rash from an allergic reaction to soap?

Yes for minor rash: If you truly have contact allergy caused by soap, the first step is to avoid the product. Overuse of soap can cause irritant dermatitis due to over-drying the skin. Fragrances and preservatives in soap can cause allergic contact dermatitis. If product avoidance and over the counter Hydrocortisone do not improve your rash, see you dermatologist.

Slurry: A baking powder slurry or an oatmeal slurry might help. Trying some hypoallergenic lotion might help. 1% Hydrocortisone cream (cortaid) can also help.
