Difficult: Bed sores in someone chronically restricted to bed who often is unable to move. Rotate every two hours, moisturize the area and stimulate the ulcer to close with special dressing such as duoderm or medihoney.

Bed sores: Bed sores are due to pressure injuries to the skin. There are two sides to the equation: the length and type of pressure on the one side; and the vulnerability of the skin on the other (moisture, edema, arterial disease, prior disease, etc.). The types of pressure injuries include friction, shearing, and pressure. You must work both sides of the equation to get rid of the bed sores.
