Discuss with MD: If the hysterectomy is recent it is best to discuss with the surgeon regarding precautions and need for therapy. Physical therapy can be helpful in regaining strength & endurance especially if there is any pelvic muscle dysfunction/pain. The physical therapist can review gentle range of motion techniques as well as joint preservation if joint pain is also a concern.
