A member asked:

What effect would a mother who has thyroid peroxidase (tpo) ab of 2, 000 during pregnancy have on the longterm outcome of the child if any?

None : Tpoab inhibits the conversion of T4 to t3 (liothyronine). This should have no effect on the unborn child. However, you should discuss this with your ob.

As long as thyroid : Function was monitored and treated, kept normal during pregnancy, then no effect!
