Probable CTS: Your symptoms are suggestive of carpal tunnel syndrome (cts). This can be confirmed by EMG and nerve conduction studies. Your doctor will be able to refer you for this study as well as prescribe a wrist-hand orthosis (such as a night splint). Carpal tunnel release surgery can provide definitive treatment if conservative measures fail.

Carpal Tunnel?: This sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome which is a pinced nerve in the wrist which causes numbness and tingling in the thumb, index, middle and ring fingers. Try a wrist brace at night when you sleep, this will help take the pressure off the nerve. If the symptoms don't go away i would see a hand surgeon.

Likely carpal tunnel: The most common cause of numbness and tingling in the hands is carpal tunnel syndrome (cts). Compression of the median nerve at the wrist causes symptoms in the thumb, index, long and the radial half of the ring finger. See a board certified orthopedic hand surgeon for evaluation and treatment. Surgery may be needed to treat symptoms if oral/injectable steroids, splints and therapy are ineffective.
