Extremely painful leg bruising without injury. doctor says blood count is normal. what could this be?

Rule out ... : I want to be very sure this is not gas gangrene or one of the flesh-eating staph or strep. I did not examine you so i cannot tell, but these may give a normal blood count. Return at once if you seem to be getting worse.
