Not much...........: The american academy of pediatrics has come out not recommending cough medicines, due to a lack of improvement in multiple controlled studies--as well as several deaths. There has recently been an article confirming the efficacy of honey (in tea) as an effective reliever of cough. Honey should never be given to a child under one year of age.
