My 1 year old daughter has had a very bad cough for the last 3-4 days. can i give her any medication to make her feel better?

No : You can't give cough medicines to a child that young. If your child has a bad cough especially if associated with fever, then i would have her evaluated by her doctor. You can give her Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) for comfort though.

COUGH: We do not give cough rx to the young patients. Push fluid intake to loosen cough and increase humidity by using vaporizer.Some md give 1 cc of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help sleep. Consult peds. For evaluation.

Honey: There is actually a study done on kids 1-5 and it showed that honey actually was a good cough medication in that age group. There really is nothing on the market that is safe for that age group. You can use a cool mist humidifier though.
