No cough suppressant: Many pediatric studies have shown that cough suppressants do not work in children, and some kids have adverse drug reactions to them. Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen would be fine for any pain relief if they have muscle aches or a headache (both hard to evaluate in a 1.3 year old). If they seem uncomfortable it is ok to try a dose to see if they improve.
