Is it appropriate for docs to reveal their diseases to their patients?

Hard to tell: It depends on the situation and the nature of the disease and most importantly on the patient himself. Some patients will appreciate knowing this kind of information, whereas others may react to it in a way the physician will not expect, so it really involves knowing your patient well before you share this kind of info.
