A member asked:

Why does advice given vary from 1 doc to another, often at the expense of patients?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Different opinions: Frequently, information provided by the patient is very sketchy and incomplete, so a lot of times we can only guess what's going on. This being one of the reason for discrepancy. Some of us have different views on how certain problem is treated. We use knowledge derived from the books and personal experience as well and this differs from doc to doc.
