Controlled med: I would recommend taking exactly as prescribed. Especially with regard to controlled substances (ritalin (methylphenidate) is a dea schedule ii), every tablet is accounted for since it is so highly controlled with concerns of misuse, diversion, theft, selling, etc. You could wait until your doctor is back or sometimes there is a covering physician who can advise you.
