A member asked:

My daughter had tubes placed in her ears a year and a half ago and now is having cloudy drainage from her ear. can i use generic drops to help drain it, or does she need to be seen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Have PCP eval: By a yr & 1/2 most kids have shed their tubes.A cloudy drainage this far out likely represents a new infection that pushed through the ear drum causing a perforation. Old drops you might have or otc preparations would likely hurt & not fix the problem.Call & make a routine appt.
