A member asked:

I am a 33 yr old female with a grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma, was first diagnosed 18 months ago, it is unoperable due to where it sits, but lately i have noticed my headaches getting worse, is this something to be worried about?

Yes: I am sorry to hear about your illness. Worsening headache in the presence of a brain lesion is reason to be concerned. The topic is not suitable for this forum, please consult your doctor.

Time for treatment: If you have not had any kind of treatment, perhaps it is time to consider one. Proton beam therapy with or without chemotherapy may provide good control of the cancer with little collateral side-effect damage to surrounding normal brain tissues. There are about 10 proton beam centers in the us where this particular kind of radiation treatment is available.
