Get MRI of Brain: The best way to answer if you have a recurrent optic nerve astrocytoma is to get an MRI of Brain with contrast. Headaches is one of the most common presenting symptoms of brain tumor. In someone who has history of brain tumor especially astrocytoma, you are at high risk of recurrence. Please see your primary care physician and get a referral for an MRI and then get a referral to see a neurosurgeon
