No: Drinking plenty of water and watching out for foods that break-down to form uric acid is the best preventitive treatment. In severe cases a daily oral medication to help elimnate the uric acid is needed.

Cherries: Are good for gout....Never really heard of any other fruits so not sure how these fruit salts would help with gout.

Fruit salt: Nope. What works is to watch what you eat. If you have an attack more often than every 6 months long term medication is indicated. Drinking water is nice , but , in reality , isn't a preventative measure. See your podiatrist and rheumatologist when it flares.

Prevent gout: YES. EXCELLENT. Adjust diet. Take in tart cherry juice and tart cherries, 20/day. Add Lemon extract 4 tblspns / day. Avoid alcohol, animal fats, organ meats, anchovies, sardines, tuna, salmon, and shellfish. Limit other meats to 4 oz per day. Avoid high fructose corn syrup containing drinks and foods. Add egg whites, quinoa, soy as protein. Eat lots of citrus fruit and veggies. Drink 3 L /day.
