Lots of possibilitie: There are lots of possible diagnoses. These can be benign cysts from the spit glands in your mouth. Less common would be a benign or malignant tumor of the mouth or spit tissues. Even in cases of cysts, we typically recommend removal as they can grow and get infected. If the specialist recommends removal, i would go with that.

Diagnosis dependent: Any unusual lump in the mouth warrants some concern and should be evaluated for removal and biopsied. Follow the advice of your treating doctor who is the most knowledgeable about your specific situation. You should pose all your questions to that doctor so you understand what will be done and why.
