Scalp Bite: Depending on what the bite is from, how long it's been there, and the extent of the "swelling", you may wish to have it evaluated. An "abscess" can fill with puss and may not cause a fever, but still needs to be drained. The age of your son may make some difference with respect to urgency as well.
