Corneal pain: Sharp, brief spells of eye pain are most likely due to eye dryness or a recurrent erosion, which is a wound on the surface of the eye that reopens after a poorly healed scratch. If your pain is accompanied by redness, light sensitivity or prolonged blurring, you should see an ophthalmologist.

Non-specific issue: Your description is not specific to any particular diagnosis. Any cause of eye surface irritation will cause sharp pain in the eye. I recommend that you see an eye doctor to determine the exact cause of your eye pain.
